Afterglow’s Charitable Partner

Tour de Trails and Afterglow Night Trail Run are proud to support Lighthouse Foundation as our charitable partner.

Lighthouse Foundation provides young people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, with the care and support they need to heal, thrive and achieve a lifelong sense of belonging.

Through community collaboration and evidence-based Lighthouse Model of Care, they create therapeutic homes and deliver tailored support programs. For the past 31 years they have transformed the lives of over 1,100 young people.

To reach as many at-risk kids as possible, The Lighthouse Foundation now also educates and supports foster carers and families in the same way, so that they too can take care of some of Australia’s most vulnerable children.

Every dollar raised from this event will help us on our pathway to end youth homelessness, together.

So who is the Lighthouse Foundation?

Ending youth homelessness together.

Lighthouse Foundation provides homes and therapeutic care programs to children and young people impacted by long-term neglect, abuse and homelessness. Our focus is to create caring communities where kids can feel safe, form meaningful relationships and begin to heal from traumatic experiences. For the past 30 years, our proven Model of Care has successfully transformed the lives of over 1,000 young people using a range of evidence-based strategies. We now educate and support foster carers in the same way, so that they too can take care of some of Australia’s most vulnerable children.

You may have even walked past a Lighthouse home before. You wouldn’t pick it from the outside, but it’s a safe home where children with complex trauma can begin to heal alongside our full-time Carers and Psychologists.
